All over the web, self-proclaimed gurus are telling you lie after blatant lie in order to get your money and pump their ego. Chances are you have fallen for some of their tactics, even if you have never been taken for thousands of dollars in exchange for some relatively worthless information. Here are a few of their favorite tactics. Buyer beware.
They tell you there are no limits
Gurus love to preach that you'll have no limitations (if you buy their products). Their "proven" strategies will either 1) catapult you past anything in your way or 2) give you unlimited power. Outside of the trance induced state their marketing materials tend to foster, it is easy for any sane person to understand that nobody has unlimited power and no person can give special powers to another. Yet, the claim is made all the time - no limits, beyond all boundaries, you can have everything you want, achieve unlimited wealth and abundance, etc...and other lies. Read more

Ryan Bloom reviews a new translation of the Kama Sutra, and says it's not all about sex.
Sex sells. If you want to push a product, add a dash of sex appeal. Even Sir Richard Francis Burton and his band of co-translators realized this back in 1883: When they first introduced Vatsyayana’s Kama Sutra to the Western world, they sold it as a sex manual. More than a hundred years later, the publishers at Penguin Books know that not much has changed.
Orientalist scholar and Sanskrit translator A.N.D. Haksar’s new interpretation of the 2,000-year-old Indian text allows a fresh opportunity for Penguin to play upon our eroticized beliefs about the Kama Sutra. For this latest incarnation, the publishers hired French graphic designer Malika Favre to create a series of alluring alphabet images for the book’s cover. Each image, composed of a sexually positioned man and woman, forms a letter in the title, such that when you unfold the flaps and lay the book flat, Kama Sutra is spelled out in scenes of cavorting couples. Is there such a thing as a soul mate? Sadhguru J. Vasudev says that the soul cannot mate with anything.
To some extent, the process of mating belongs to the body and the mind. The soul cannot mate with anything, nor does the soul need a mate because it is absolute and boundless. Only what is limited needs a mate in order feel a little better.
If you choose a mate because you want your body to feel a little better, we call that sexuality, and it can be quite beautiful. If we choose a mate because we want our minds to feel a little better, we call that companionship. If we want our emotions to feel better, we call that love. Read more

Svetlana Ivanova says it's the tongue strokes that make cunnilingus special. She reveals four tongue techniques that you can use to pleasure your lover.
The word cunnilingus mean “licking the vulva.” However, many cunnilingus tutorials don’t really get into the specifics of how to lick. Though using your mouth and fingers may be part of cunnilingus, it’s the tongue strokes that make cunnilingus special.
Before describing four tongue techniques that you can use to pleasure your lover, let me remind you of a very important point: do not head straight for her clitoris when you first go down on her. The clitoris can be painfully sensitive if a woman is not aroused enough, so make sure that you continue to turn her on so that she is fully receptive before stimulating her clitoris. Otherwise, it can have the opposite effect of what you want it to have, Read more

Ed and Deb Shapiro, authors of Be the Change: How Meditation Can Transform You and the World, say that meditation can help us confront our own issues so that we can allow love into our lives.
... To love ourselves is seeing and accepting the more hidden side of ourselves. Most of us have issues with past hurts, traumas and conflicts. Meditation enables us to see the deception, jealousy, grief, envy, trauma and other issues that dwell in our heads. It gives us a spaciousness where we can step back to be more honest. It also gives us the chance to make friends with our demons. Do we let our issues rule us, or can we see them for what they are and release the hold they have? Read more

One of the goals of Tantra is to awaken Kundalini. However, that process is seldom easy or comfortable. Anmol Mehta describes the signs of the Kundalini awakening experience and offers some tips for dealing with Kundalini Syndrome.
To help people identify that what they were feeling and experiencing were actually signs of Kundalini Awakening and not symptoms of a mental or medical condition, I created a list of Kundalini Awakening Symptoms for them to use as a reference. These symptoms were from my own experience with Kundalini Rising, and were certainly not comprehensive.
Kundalini is a very mysterious process and its awakening and rising tends to always have some unique and personal aspects. Of course there are many common signs, but if you read the hundreds of comments in that article thread, you will notice there are various different ways that people experience kundalini. These varied experiences then gives us more insight into the nature and secrets of kundalini and how she works.
One good thing though with regard to Kundalini Syndrome, which is what the experience of Kundalini Awakening is often referred to as, is that the approach to dealing with the challenges such awakening brings is usually common. Of course there are cases on the extreme end of the spectrum, which need medical intervention and/or psychotherapy, but the vast majority of cases can be handled individually by following the advise laid out in the following 2 articles… Read more
