What Tantra Is and What It Isn't

In the minds of many people, Tantra means a style of prolonged lovemaking; however, it can and does mean so much more.
It's about sex and has nothing to do with sex. It's about how we approach life, Pamm

Tantra isn't memorizing and perfectly executing all the chronicled positions from the Kama Sutra. It is about being your body and following its impulses rather than some rote routine in sex.

Tantra looks like it's all about pretty and light. Which it is...but it's also about being with the Dark...which often shows up in the middle of playing in the light.

For instance- the biggest sort of cliche thing I hear about Tantra is that it's about lighting a few candles and gazing into each other's eyes (snicker, snicker). Many find this boring, silly, trite. And it can be. Sitting there looking into another's eyes while a Sting song plays in the background isn't what Tantra's all about. Read more

Healthy, Lasting Relationships through Tantra

Nahu Lanham explains how Tantra can create healthy, lasting relationships.
In the book TANTRA, The Way of Acceptance, Osho informs us:

“This is the Tantra message: don’t live a repressed life, otherwise you live not at all. Live a life of expression, creativity, joy. Live the way existence wanted you to live; live the natural way.”

[...]

Increased erotic joy is possible because a higher level of consciousness increases energy, creativity and self-expression. You could say it takes you to a higher frequency of self-expression. As one learns to express this divinity with their chosen sexual partner through Tantric exercise and awareness, they find new dimensions of fulfillment that can be enjoyed whether they choose to express it solo or with their partner. The specific details of these methods, though long held secret and passed on only through oral tradition, are socially available in many forms today and practiced in mental, spiritual and physical meditative rituals. The 4 Best Positions for G-Spot Massage

Svetlana Ivanova at Sex Secrets says that couples should try different positions for G-spot stimulation because every woman is different.

The G-Spot is the focal point of female sexual arousal. The G-spot lies about 2 inches inside the vagina behind the front wall of the vagina. It is a tiny, bean-shaped area which swells and can become as large as a quarter when stimulated, though, actually, the aroused G-spot’s size varies considerably from woman to woman. Since every woman is different, couples may need to experiment with different positions to find the best way to stimulate her G-spot. Try these 4 positions for G-spot massage. Read more

G-Spot Massage for Yoni Healing

The G-spot is an area located on the front wall of the Yoni (Sanskrit for vagina) about 2 inches in and beneath the pubic bone. The G-spot stores a woman's sexual, creative energy, but it also stores any sexual or emotional pain. Often, G-spot massage is referred to as Yoni healing because it stimulates and applies pressure to the Yoni in order to remove any blocks to sexual pleasure, such as feelings of numbness or pain, and replace them with pleasurable, erotic sensations.

Make the space where you'll be doing the G-spot massage warm, inviting, and special, a place your partner will feel welcome and comfortable. Ask her to undress and lie face down. Begin giving her a full body massage. After about 10 minutes, ask her to turn over, and then continue the massage. When she seems very relaxed, ask her if it is all right to massage her more intimately. If she is ready, begin to gently massage her genital area, including the inner and outer lips of her Yoni and her pubic mound.

Kama Sutra Keep Fit

The Kama Sutra, written by the Indian sage Vatsyayana, is one of the most famous books in the world. It is the earliest surviving example of a written Hindu love manual based on earlier Kama Sharstras or Rules Of Love and promotes the cultivation of sensuality as a sacred duty. If the Kama Sutra conjures images of rubber-limbed Indian gods and goddesses in improbable poses, think again. You can also keep fit with the Kama Sutra.

If you're looking for an unusual Christmas gift or a different exercise routine for the new year, Dance of the Kama Sutra With Hemalayaa is a new workout DVD that uses meditation and movements from Indian dance to help women cultivate their sensuality. Hemalayaa is a yogini and Indian dance expert. This video is for any woman that wants to move her body, learn to love the body she's in, and make it something sensual for her partner. Dance of the Kama Sutra With Hemalayaa is sensual, empowering, feminine, and perfect for any body type or fitness level.

Tantra Terms for the Puzzled Reader

Part of the trouble with exploring Tantra without a teacher is that you are bound to come across new words. Sometimes, these terms aren't adequately defined because authors assume that their readers already know them. Touching SA has an glossary of Tantra terms that can serve as an excellent reference for anyone, but especially newcomers learning on their own.
Acupressure Points. The junctures of energy pathways in the body. Holding acupressure points for more than a minute or so causes the body to release neurochemicals called endorphins. The release of endorphins can create a euphoric “natural high” and encourage relaxation as well as magnetism and intimacy.

Amrita. “Divine Nectar.” Sanskrit term for female ejaculate. This fluid is different from urine and similar to the prostatic fluid of men. In Tantra Amrita is considered to be a powerfully healing substance.Ananda. Divine bliss; joy; spiritual ecstasy.

Asana. Yoga posture. Used to positively influence the energies of body and mind

A-U-M. The three sounds which compose the root mantra, om. The sound-values of om and their symbolic interpretation are described in the Upanishads: “”A” as the waking consciousness, “U” as the dream-consciousness and “M” as the consciousness during deep sleep. Om as a whole represents the all-encompassing cosmic consciousness.”

Aura. The subtle field of energy generated by the various life energies in the body.

Ayurveda. “Science of life.” Ayurveda is the traditional system of medicine of India, which dates back thousands of years. The Sanskrit root ayu means “life,” and veda means “pure knowledge.” Read more
