Thank you for addressing this article. As I read it, I wondered by what authority the author wrote. Did the author even bother to research the subject? Although it is true that certain leaders in any area of human endeavor (including religion) fall into traps of ego and greed and sexually exploit or otherwise abuse leaders, the yoga didn't cause this.
I think giving too much authority to so-called gurus is part of the problem.
