A Beginner's Guide to Tantric Sex

Tantric sex attempts to bring two loving partners together in more than just a physical manner. The word Tantra is Sanskrit and is derived from the root word tan meaning "to extend, expand, spread, continue, spin out, weave, to put forth or manifest.” The idea is to extend your mind and encompass your body to achieve the ultimate satisfaction. In the practice of Tantra, there is a sort of "being- consciousness-bliss" which has the power of self-evolution and self-involution (learning and expanding and looking into oneself). Therefore, the evolution of self helps to bring two people closer together.

The 4 Best Positions for Reaching a Tantric G-Spot Orgasm

A Tantric orgasm is a full body energy experience. G-spot stimulation is one way to access Tantric orgasms. The G-spot (Grafenberg spot) is a small, lima bean-shaped area on the upper side of the vaginal wall (tummy side), approximately 2-3 inches in. This spot feels different in texture than the rest of the vagina. It is spongy and coarser in texture than the rest of the vagina, which is normally how it is found. When the G-spot is stimulated, usually through hard pushing or constant rubbing, it causes intense orgasmic feelings that most women say exceeds a normal orgasmic response.

My Tantric Sex Ebook Is Available!

In popular culture, Tantric sex is often associated with marathon sessions of lovemaking in a variety of different positions,. The reality is Tantra is so much more than that. Tantra is a gateway, not just to sexual ecstasy, but to personal healing and fulfillment.

I have been writing about Tantra and Tantric sex at Tantra: Gateway to Ecstasy since 2007. I have been asked numerous times by readers about whether I give sessions or classes about Tantric sex. I don't, but what I have done instead is write a book Tantric Sex: A Guide to Tantra Lovemaking Secrets and Practices. This year I decided to revise and expand the book to include additional material to order to share even more Tanra lovemaking secrets and practices....

Pompoir: The Art of Milking the Lingam

Pompoir is the art of “milking” the lingam of your partner
with your yoni. (Lingam and yoni are Sanskrit for penis and vagina.) While both partners are still, the woman grips and massages her man's erection with rhythmic, rippling contractions of the pubococcygeus muscle (PC) and other pelvic floor muscles. (This rippling effect also happens during an intense orgasm in a woman.) The rippling causes a kind of milking action that can be felt by the lingam.

How to Combine Tantra, Yoga, and Meditation for Sexual Empowerment

Psalm Isadora reveals how to combine Tantra, yoga, and meditation for sexual empowerment.
Question: As someone who focuses on holistic healing, I have primarily tried to heal from sexual trauma by going to hot yoga and meditating. As a multi-time sexual and physical violence survivor, I often wonder if this is the best route. I've tried experimental therapy such as EMDR and it has been unsuccessful. I want to be able to do wheel pose without being scared. I want to be able to trust my yoga teachers when they adjust me. Can you help me build trust and heal from so much violence and trauma without utilizing Western techniques?

Absolutely. Yoga and meditation are great routes to healing. I have experienced sexual trauma and suffered post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of that abuse. I also found that yoga helped me reconnect with my body, which was a very important step toward healing and sharing my body with others in a healthy way. Read more

5 Ways Tantra Can Heal Our Society

Katrina Bos reveals five ways that Tantra can heal our society.
There is a common discussion in the tantric world where some say that tantra is not about sex, it is a spiritual path. This is very true.

But what good is a philosophy and path if we can’t apply it to everyday life?

It’s like yoga. There is nothing interesting about being able to do full lotus or to balance on your arms. This kind of technology would not have been handed down in secrecy from teacher to student for millennia if these physical abilities were the only goal. Read more

There have been those who’ve had an impact of varying degrees—some of which that shine a light so bright on these wounds. But ultimately, it’s taking responsibility for my actions and accepting that I created many of these obstacles. Hence, I’m now coconsciously making the choice to reflect, heal, and move forward. The Practice of Tantra Mantras

If you have heard of mantras in Tantra, but are not sure of what they are or why they are used, this brief introduction to the practice of Tantra mantras should clear things up.
Introduction

Mantra means in Sanskrit language, 'liberation of the mind' referring to the techniques employed, known as Mantra Yoga. Mantra Yoga is according to the yoga tradition, a valid way to obtain liberation (Moksha) (see note 1). A widely accepted classification is to be of five kinds viz. Pinda, Kartari, Bija, Mantra and Mala. This classification takes into account the number of syllables, thus for the Bija Mantra there are three to nine syllables. Basically the tantric Mantras are Bija Mantras with some rare exceptions when the number of syllables could be more or less than the usual range. This article is mainly about Bija Mantras. Read more

Finding the Ideal Lover

If you haven't yet found your ideal lover, you may not be searching in the right way.
Love does not belong to anybody, it is divine. It comes from God and it is for God only, manifested in the Created Universe.

One of the most important aspects, if we want to find our ideal lover, the one to complete us and to make our heart happy and fulfilled, is the complete transformation of the negative mind patterns that we maintain.

All those who complain about not finding the right lover have a negative idea in their subconscious mind regarding the couple relationship. In most situations, it is a prior traumatizing experience. Look into yourself and realize that if you lack self-confidence, if you think you do not deserve it, that there is so much in you to transform, that now you have a difficult period, etc., this is the projection you emit mentally and you will receive an answer to this projection. 20 Reasons to Be in Your Body

You've probably heard the phrase "being in your body," but what does it really mean? Lissa Rankin explains:
For years, people have been accusing me of not being in my body (read about it here). I used to have no idea what that meant. I mean, of course I’m in my body, right? I have a body – and I’m alive. So by every medical and spiritual definition I could imagine, I’m in my body.

Yet, my mentors kept telling me I’m not – not just Tricia Barrett, my dear friend and spiritual counselor, but Debbie Rosas, the founder of Nia dance. When Debbie and I were talking awhile back, she said, “Lissa, I know you’ve done a lot of personal growth in the past few years, but I feel like embodiment is the missing piece.” And she invited me to come train with her at her Nia White Belt Intensive in Portland. Since Debbie is the most grounded, solid, rooted, sensual woman I know, I decided that I wanted some of what she was having – so I said yes. And WHOA, NELLY! Debbie was right. I haven’t been in my body.

Getting Less Serious with Tantra

Tantra teacher Shakti Padmini says that God is not always serious, and enlightenment is not the exclusive domain of hard workers or the intellectual elite. You don't have to meditate for years to have grand cosmic experiences.
Some time ago I came across an amusing article written by 'serious' spiritual practitioners, castigating modern day tantrikas for "cheating" - taking shortcuts to spirituality and doubting their spiritual sincerity. Apparently, what typically takes 'serious' meditators years of intense spiritual discipline to achieve is available to a Tantrika in just a few months.

Therefore, they questioned whether something might be amiss, as you certainly couldn't have all those grand cosmic experiences simply by just 'indulging' in extended pleasure time! You need to seriously meditate 'the proper way', in order to achieve these fruits of hard labor and concentration!

Well, I'm here to say that God is not always serious, and enlightenment is not the exclusive domain of hard workers or the intellectual elite... if so, the world would have collapsed long ago. Instead, I believe that we are ALL innately equipped to experience our divinity through doing what we enjoy, realizing our true essence - love - by making love. And I mean that literally - when consciousness penetrates... energy love is the result. Read more

The Yoga of Tantric Love: 7 Reasons Why It Is Not Just about Sex

The word Tantra means sex to many people, but Ramesh Bjonnes reveals seven reason why Tantra is not just about sex.
Tantra is not the yoga of sex. Tantra is the yoga of everything.

On some yogic and spiritual paths, the attitude to life is via negativa, and the world is seen as a cause for suffering, as giving us a sense of false identity when we are attached to it. So the yogi’s task becomes to disengage, to free ourselves from suffering or from the attachment, to become a witness to it all.

But that is not the attitude of Tantra. In Tantra we actually want to get engaged, tangled up in the world with our spirit still shining.

The attitude of Tantra is that even our suffering, even our attachment is our yoga, our spirituality. In Tantra all problems are potential friends, allies, a support system for deeper understanding, deeper love.

The key to being a Tantric yogi or yogini is to embrace duality and then go deep into and then beyond it. Why? Because duality is just another expression of nonduality. In other words, there is, according to Tantra, Spirit, God, Awareness, Consciousness in everything. Even in suffering. Even in pleasure.

This knowledge, this wisdom is called Madhuvidya, or honey knowledge, the idea that the bees of Sprit can turn everything we do and feel, even failure, into nectar.

Here are 7 unique ways of Tantric spirituality: Read more

Tantra: The Art of Sexual Healing

Evalena Rose tells how, at a time when she was feeling so little pleasure from sex that she didn't care if she ever made love again, a Tantra workshop led to her sexual healing.
... Tantra opens and activates the chakras and, by moving sexual energy through them, brings up whatever blocks true passion. My workshop leaders and dakinis (assistants who come to support sexual healing) created a sacred temple in which I felt safe to explore the pain of being sexually violated as a child, breathing through it to the pleasure beneath. In the exercises I could explode in rage, shake out the blocks, and reclaim a body ravaged by incest and years of reenactment through casual sex. It was amazing to be so accepted with all of my pain, respected and supported for my deep commitment to heal. Read more

Tantra for Security and Prosperity

Umaa Tantra teacher Tao Semko explains why so many self-proclaimed "yoga practitioners," "meditators," and "new-age tantrics" are unappealingly unhealthy and unable able to hold down a job, maintain real relationships, or create a prosperous life for themselves and their loved ones, and how Tantric technqiues can be used for security and prosperity.
Have you ever wondered why so many self-proclaimed "yoga practitioners," "meditators," and "new-age tantrics" are unappealingly unhealthy and spaced-out? Or why these people who live a supposedly healthy, "spiritual" lifestyle, often feel insecure and seem disconnected from their family and fellow human beings? Sometimes they're unable able to hold down a job, maintain real relationships, much less create a prosperous life for themselves and their loved ones... Read more
