American Pie, Sex and the City and other feature films have referenced it, Sting and sex therapists are raving about it, people everywhere are talking about it, but what is Tantric Sex? In this article I will give you the low-down on this new (or maybe not so new) phenomenon. If you are ready to give this well-kept secret a go, keep reading for my quick-start guide.
What is Tantric Sex?
Tantric sex utilises the ancient Eastern practices of Tantra, using breath, sounds and movements to activate sexual energy. It is said to bring you and your partner’s sex life to greater states of sensual pleasure and intimacy. Tantric sex is different from other well-known practices, such as Kama Sutra, as it is not solely based on sex positions but is a whole new way of life. The focus is not on achieving multiple or even quick orgasms, but in fact the complete opposite, its aim is to prolong the act of sex thus increasing the sexual energy between you and your partner.
So if you want to experience a powerful flow of energy and intimacy between you and your partner, decreased stress and greater sexual satisfaction, here are some helpful hints. Read more

Tantra teacher Shakti Padmini says that God is not always serious, and enlightenment is not the exclusive domain of hard workers or the intellectual elite. You don't have to meditate for years to have grand cosmic experiences.
Some time ago I came across an amusing article written by 'serious' spiritual practitioners, castigating modern day tantrikas for "cheating" - taking shortcuts to spirituality and doubting their spiritual sincerity. Apparently, what typically takes 'serious' meditators years of intense spiritual discipline to achieve is available to a Tantrika in just a few months.
Therefore, they questioned whether something might be amiss, as you certainly couldn't have all those grand cosmic experiences simply by just 'indulging' in extended pleasure time! You need to seriously meditate 'the proper way', in order to achieve these fruits of hard labor and concentration!
Well, I'm here to say that God is not always serious, and enlightenment is not the exclusive domain of hard workers or the intellectual elite... if so, the world would have collapsed long ago. Instead, I believe that we are ALL innately equipped to experience our divinity through doing what we enjoy, realizing our true essence - love - by making love. And I mean that literally - when consciousness penetrates... energy love is the result. Read more

There is one fact of life which is universally applicable to all of us : All of us will die one day. Tantra teacher Mahasatvaa Ma Ananda Sarita gives a meditation to live life more fully after death.
From the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra: “Focus on fire rising through your form from the toes up until the body burns to ashes but not you.”
The meditations in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra cover all aspects of life, including death. This sutra allows us to experience death before physically dying, which in turn means we are more able to live.
What is that which transcends death? All the mystics down the ages have spoken about the deathless, that which is never born and never dies, which is what we are focusing on in this particular sutra. To practise this meditation: Read more

The word Tantra means sex to many people, but Ramesh Bjonnes reveals seven reason why Tantra is not just about sex.
Tantra is not the yoga of sex. Tantra is the yoga of everything.
On some yogic and spiritual paths, the attitude to life is via negativa, and the world is seen as a cause for suffering, as giving us a sense of false identity when we are attached to it. So the yogi’s task becomes to disengage, to free ourselves from suffering or from the attachment, to become a witness to it all.
But that is not the attitude of Tantra. In Tantra we actually want to get engaged, tangled up in the world with our spirit still shining.
The attitude of Tantra is that even our suffering, even our attachment is our yoga, our spirituality. In Tantra all problems are potential friends, allies, a support system for deeper understanding, deeper love.
The key to being a Tantric yogi or yogini is to embrace duality and then go deep into and then beyond it. Why? Because duality is just another expression of nonduality. In other words, there is, according to Tantra, Spirit, God, Awareness, Consciousness in everything. Even in suffering. Even in pleasure.
This knowledge, this wisdom is called Madhuvidya, or honey knowledge, the idea that the bees of Sprit can turn everything we do and feel, even failure, into nectar.

Balancing your chakras improves your health and wellbeing, physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga and meditation teacher Anmol Mehta describes how to perform the chakra balancing breathing exercise Anuloma Viloma.
Background of Chakra Balancing Breathing Exercise (Anuloma Viloma Pranayama):
This is a wonderful and essential breathing exercise to practice before moving on to the practice of other more advanced pranayamas. This breath control technique comes from Patnajali’s Yoga Sutras and actually goes by several different names. It is called Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, Nadi Shuddhi Pranayama, Anuloma Viloma Pranyanama, Alternate Nostril Breathing Technique, but I think the name that will describe it best is Chakra Balancing Breathing Exercise. The version given here is the basic technique which must be mastered first, later in this book I will give the more advanced versions of this pranayama.
Chakra Balancing Breathing Exercise is designed to purify the psychic channels (nadis) through which Kundalini Energy and Prana (Life-Force) flow. There are 3 primary channels for the flow of this energy: Ida, Pingala and Shusumna. It is essential to balance the flow of energy between the Ida and Pingala channels which run alongside and intertwine the spine. Through the spinal column runs the Shushumna Nadi, the central master channel. The Ida and Pingala can be considered the lunar and solar channels respectively. With the Ida Nadi responsible for cooling, feminine, passive, mental energy and the Pingala Nadi responsible for hot, male, active, physical energy. As the flow through these 2 channels is harmonized, prana and Kundalini start to flow through Shushumna. This flow through the Shushumna Nadi activates and balances all the seven chakras. Read more
