Taste a Tantra Puja in Seven Minutes

Kamala Devi shares a video of the puja conducted by her mentor Francoise at Tantra Palooza.
This is a monumental moment for me. This video is my imperfect attempt to share a sacred ritual that is the foundation of my spiritual path: My mentor and friend, Francoise facilitated this puja to about 60 people at the opening ceremony of Tantra Palooza last year.
I wrestled with my demons about whether or not to "put it out there," but decided I am willing to be judged, misunderstood and even misrepresented in the name of education and enlightenment. Read more

The Joy of Spiritual Sex

The joy of spiritual sex is about more than going Tantric, says Hannah Borno. Being open to transcendent experiences can help us reach our sexual potential.
Jenna and her husband Mike had sex last Saturday morning. Nothing remarkable about that, but something happened to Jenna that she’d never experienced before. ‘Something clicked and I completely lost my sense of self,’ she says. ‘It’s hard to explain. It was as though I was transported outside my body and I lost myself, but simultaneously discovered something far bigger. I didn’t have any sense of “me” at all. Afterwards, I remember lying in Mike’s arms, tears running down my cheeks, suffused with a feeling of love for him and for everything. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an intense emotional experience, and it left me feeling incredibly centred, positive and strong.’ Read more

Methods of Oral Sex in the Kama Sutra

The Kama Sutra is famous for its descriptions of acrobatic sex positions, but the Kama Sutra also explains how to perform oral sex. Dane Stanton describes the methods of oral sex in the Kama Sutra
Vatsyayana was a wise man who recognized the sometimes necessary desire for discretion. He knew very well that a sudden outbreak of unexpected pregnancies in the kings harem or of another fellows wife might have some rather serious consequences but as the saying goes "It is better to be a live dog than a dead lion," and sometimes temptation is just a bit too much.

As the Kama Sutra stated of these clandestine sexual relationships, "No place is as poorly guarded as a harem. And no women more accessible than the king's wives. A determined young man only has to choose how to achieve his ends.

Hidden inside a barrel or disguised as a maidservant, he will easily deceive the casual sentinels and the overworked stewards. He can also try to make himself invisible by using an appropriate potion. But the result is uncertain. The king's wives like to play games with strangers that are forbidden with their husband. The young man and the noble lady are lying against each other, head to tail.

He explores her yoni while her pretty mouth gobbles up his lingam greedily. It is Kalila the crow, the posture of slaves and maidservants, that queens are so fond of." Vatsyayana went on to describe the steps and variations of oral sex in hopes that his pupils might live to enjoy another day. Read more

Touching Can Save Lives

Touch is not only pleasurable, but healing. Suzie Heumann explains how touching can save lives.
I'm a sensual kind of person. My body informs me. As a species, we humans have generally forgotten to pay attention to the information our bodies are revealing to us. We're a thinking species and by being thus we think ourselves through situations rather than feeling through situations. This leads to a systematic demise of our abilities to recognize bodily functions that can lead us to healing modalities we used to know about back when our brains weren't so big.

Scientists, with the aid of new tools and resources, are leading us back to an understanding that will help us reincorporate this deep and ancient knowledge. For instance, recent studies have revealed an incredible healing facet through touch. These studies have come about through the curious representation of whiskers and the understanding that some parts of our bodies take up larger areas of our brain matter than other areas do. Remember the homunculus? This is that odd looking little "man" that is superimposed over the brain with big hands, lips, genitals, feet, head and other features that are out of proportion to the rest of his body. He is a representation of our brain parts and an illustration of how they are mapped on our brain. Some parts have much more sensory input than other parts hence the bigger representation on the homunculus.

Prevent Premature Ejaculation: A Simple Exercise to Last Longer in Bed

Sex therapist Mukee Okan gives men a simple exercise to prolong sex and increase sexual stamina.
Sometimes overcoming premature ejaculation is a matter of learning effective relaxation techniques and bringing more awareness into your sexual experiences. Interestingly, this idea contradicts a lot of prevailing wisdom around 'numbing' sexual sensations and distracting oneself from the experience.

I want to share a very simple exercise to increase what I call your "cock awareness". Read more

Finding the Clitoris: Inside and Out

Tantra teacher Jaiya provides two newlyweds a guide to finding the clitoris.
... When it comes to the clitoris, we are really in the dark. For example, many people have no idea that the clitoris has two legs that extend into the body. There are parts that you can find externally and parts that you can find internally. Many of women’s most pleasurable parts have been left out of anatomy books. Even my book doesn’t have the whole picture, and the illustrators kept illustrating things in the wrong place. It was quite a feat just to get what we got into the book. I am glad that more attention is starting to be placed on the subject of anatomy, especially when it comes to the clitoris. Read more

A Visit to a Tantric Sex Therapist

Lucy Cavendish visits a Tantric sex therapist to see if he could really rekindle her middle-aged libido.
As I arrive outside Mike Lousada's house in North London, I am so nervous I am almost tempted to walk straight past, cancel my appointment and forget I'd ever heard his name.

This is hardly surprising because, though I have never met him before, I have come to him to rediscover my libido. Mike is a tantric sex therapist. He charges £95 a time to help women reach heights of ecstasy they never imagined existed.

His methods involve conversation, meditation and - ahem! - sensual massage, which can (if the client requests it) become rather startlingly intimate. It sounds, if not sleazy, then somewhat suspect. After all, what sort of woman would pay a stranger to rekindle her sex drive? Read more

Trataka Gazing with So Ham Mantra

Trataka is gazing and is a traditional meditation practice of Yoga and Tantra. So Ham (or So Hum) is a Universal Mantra, as it relates to the breath, and everybody breaths. So Ham is a Sanskrit word that means I am that, or I am that I am.

Inhale with the sound So, and exhale with the sound Hum. Allow the sounds to silently repeat in your mind, without speaking them aloud. There are a total of 40 So Hum and breath repetitions The speed of one repetition is 9 seconds per breath, which is 6 2/3 breaths per minute. This rate is ideal for relaxing the autonomic nervous system, and also preparing for deep meditation. Breathe with your diaphragm, while gazing at the center, silently remembering So with inhalation and Hum with exhalation.

Full Body and Multiple Orgasm with Tantra

Steve and Lokita Carter explain how Tantric lovemaking can lead to full body and multiple orgasms in women and men.
Does Tantra help to achieve a full body orgasm? Can both men and women enjoy multiple orgasms? Does tantric lovemaking last longer? These questions are asked often by individuals who are starting on the tantric path, and they have as many answers as there are people asking it.

In ordinary lovemaking, the feelings, attention, and energy are focused mainly in one area: the genitals. The sensations in our genitals are delightful, however, by being focused on “down there” there is a goal and when that goal is realized, this particular sexual episode is over.

In tantric lovemaking, movement, breath, sound and presence are the keys to expand our ecstatic energy and spread it throughout the whole body. Using these keys allows the expansion of bliss and ecstasy rather than release of energy. This is what we call "orgasmic bliss". Read more
